All of my modded pieces get added into the game without replacing anything. This single mod gives you:

  • Ramps (hab). all four direction variants.
  • An empty 1x1x2 hab with internal stairs. flips in all four directions.
  • An empty 3x3x2 hab with internal stairs, with its own decorate panel included
  • Observation bulb (hab)
  • Observation deck (hab)
  • Glass-enclosed hab spines and cross spines
  • Solar panel hab spine (hab), powered version (equipment)
  • Two sets of angled solar panel wings (structural), powered versions (equipment)
  • Radar (structural), comspike functionality version (equipment)
  • Place doorways anywhere. put the two doorway pieces onto the two attach points where you want an open doorway. it will not have a door you can open and close, unless the game wanted to put one there anyway. (equipment)
  • Place ladders anywhere. put the two ladder pieces onto the two attach points where you want a ladder. you can't activate these, only boost through (equipment)
  • Door caps. place one of these on one of the attach points where you do not want a doorway. it will use up the interior space as if a porthole was there. it will not work 100% of the time (equipment)
  • Ladder cap. Put it on the bottom of the upper hab where you don't want a ladder. it will use up the interior space as if a porthole was there. it will not work 100% of the time (equipment)
  • A new cockpit. must be level 30 and have starship design rank 1

All parts are found at the HopeTown ship services technician.

All of my pieces currently have the "hopetech exclusive" keyword, so you can use

addkeyword 271bd

on a ship services technician of your choice, but it will also add every vanilla hopetech exclusive to that vendor as well.

Installation

Add the following lines to your StarfieldCustom.ini in Documents\My Games\Starfield

[Spaceship]
fShipBuilderModuleOverlapTolerance=-4

If you've ever used a mod that changes this value, it probably did it in an aggressive way- and it continually overrides the value you set yourself. If you can't attach my modules, this value hasn't been set.

Guide for installing mods

Second, more detailed, guide for installing mods

Third guide for installing mods

Use MO2 2.5.0 Beta 14 or later. To get 2.5 you need to go to the links in their discord

I will not support Vortex until they update it to be able to handle plugin mods reliably.

plugins.txt enabler
required.

Bugs/Problems that I will not fix until Creation Kit is out

  • Lighting inside the ramp is bad.
  • Lighting inside the cockpit is bad.
  • Lighting inside the 2-floor habs is bad.
  • Navmesh for the ramps is bad. Companions can fall through.
  • NPC's can't move through my modded pieces.

Bugs/Problems - Other

  • Connecting a ramp to a hab spine will leave gaps on either side of the spine
  • Most of my modded pieces don't have exterior collision. The ship builder gives me various errors when most of the collision geometry is in place. There's no easy fix for this.
  • If you attach a ramp directly to your landing bay, you could get stuck on the inside. This is simply due to the shape of the ramp. The game spawns you where the floor of a normal hab would be. Don't put a ramp directly on the landing bay.
  • The ramp is hard to select in the ship builder. This is a result of having to remove most of the exterior collision to get rid of an invisible wall that blocked off the landing bay. Click on its edges to select it in the ship builder. Don't put a ramp directly on the landing bay.
  • can't activate the ladder to watch your character climb up it for 18 minutes.
  • trying to decorate the observation deck is awful.
  • the observation deck and observation bulb have to be placed a level away from the bay and docker. To get around this, i would have to remove nearly all of the exterior collision, which i had to do for the ramp and the cockpit, which people complain about endlessly. so i can have people complain about this or complain about that.

Other

  • My mod does not change anything from the game. My mod only adds new references to the game. The only possible conflict there could be is if someone else's mod does something drastic to change the way the game handles all regular snap points or hab connection points.
  • The stairs do not have a bottom attach point because there wasn't room for the player to go up a ladder- the stairs blocked the way. I'll eventually get around to adding a structural attach point to the bottom, but there will never be a hab connection point there.
  • If you can't attach my modules, you haven't set the ship build tolerance.
  • if my modules are invisible, you haven't installed the mod correctly. use MO2.
  • If you get the 'unattached modules' error (present in the vanilla game since launch), double click a piece to select it and everything attached to it and drag all of it away and the unattached piece will be left behind. then re-attach it. repeat until it works.
  • If you get an error that your cockpit isn't attached to the bay or the docker, drag away some of the habs connecting them and then reattach them. repeat until the error goes away.
